2005-07-21 :: Chimera Virtual Desktop v1.3 released! v1.3 is OUT! Lots of new features! And we did not keep we promised: the price is not $29.95 but $24.95. ATTENTION! Customers of previous versions must ask for a new free license key at support at chimera.hu!

2005-03-06 :: Chimera Virtual Desktop 1.2.0 released - Desktops can be named. Name is shown in preview mode if "show desktop numbers and names" option is set. Names are used in application context menus and all popup menus as well.
- Annoyance fixup: edgenavs do not appear if they would point to the current desktop. (This only happens if the layout is 1 desktop wide or 1 desktop high!)
- Annoyance fixup: desktop preview, edgenavs, applist are no longer closed if a popup menu spawned from them is still open!
- Annoyance fixup: edgenavs do not steal focus when shown!
- Added "strict desktop separation" option! If this is checked, any window created by an application that currently has at least 1 window that has a desktop assigned, will NOT be allowed to appear on a desktop different from the application's assigned desktop. To put it short: if strict mode is on, you will not see windows of applications that are running on a different desktop, in any circumstance. Decide if strict mode or non-strict mode is better for you. I suggest using non-sctrict. If you want to use strict, define ALL programs using dialogs that can be shown anytime (for example firewalls, virus scanners) as sticky, if you don't want to run into situations like programs not starting for an unknown reason, etc... :)
- Added extensive event logging and event notification bubble-hint to show the most important events.
- Added event log option to the tray menu. Set the notification level as you wish!
- Uninstall feedback form can be cancelled from now on.
- Added privacy statement.
- Added movable floating window to display current desktop name.
- Annoyance fixup: autosend applications moved from their default desktop no longer create new windows to the default desktop, they create to the current. No more autosent messageboxes that make your application look like it is not responding!
- Added lock/unlock icons to desktop name window.
- Added private desktops config tab and lockable desktops.
- Bugfix: doubleclicking the tray icon sometimes threw an error. Fixed.
- Bugfix: when switching to a lower resolution, the desktop info window just disappeared sometimes. Fixed.
- Bugfix: resolution was not restored when switching to a desktop that had no distinct resolution assigned or when exiting the program. Fixed.
- Added 2x1 and 1x2 desktop layout option.
- CVD now allows setting "unsafe" display modes. Use at your own risk!
- Desktop locking is nearly full fledged now.
- General settings are separated on 2 pages now.
- Separate icon sets per desktops are now available! Still not the best, but works... Icon positions are not retained, sorry.

- Added Ctrl+function keys hotkey option to change desktop.
- Added snapshot recovery function! CVD can record snapshots of windows being managed. (General options / Snapshot recording and recovery) If CVD is stopped and restarted, most application windows will be automatically recovered and shown on their most recent desktop! This even works if CVD was stopped by the task manager or another method that does not exit the program gracefully! Stability to the extremes! No more hassles with manual lost window recovery!
